Laptop Bios Passwords

Laptop bios passwords

Laptops tend to have better security than desktop PC’s,

With PC’s a simple jumper change or cmos battery removal can remove a bios password. However with laptops removing bios passwords is a little more tricky.

Laptop manufacturers go to great lengths to ensure that a laptop if stolen or lost cannot be operated without entering a bios password. (if one was setup by the original user)

Here at Oopsilon IT Solutions we can successfully remove bios passwords from the following systems:

Dell latitude bios passwords with the following codes:

xxxxxxx-595B

xxxxxxx–2A7B

xxxxxxx–D35B
xxxxxxx–1D3B
xxxxxxx–1F66
xxxxxxx–6FF1

most HP Laptop models (some HP laptops may not be possible to remove the bios password)

Toshiba, Acer, Time, Viglen, Fujitsu Siemens, Sony Vaio, Samsung, LG, Panasonic ToughBook, Sharp, VIA, Packard Bell.

Lenovo ThinkPad – most models

For some laptops we will need to open up the laptop to access parts of the motherboard, this may void any warranty you may have on the laptop.

We do not accept any responsibility for any loss of data during the password removal process. The onus is on the user to backup any personal data before sending the laptop in for any repairs.

We do offer a backup / recovery service which is an additional cost. Contact for details.
